Changes of Forced Vital Capacity and Forced Expiratory Volume in One Second at Out-patient Department with Coal Worker¢¥s Pneumoconiosis

Abstract

|
Medical records of 56 patients with coal workers¢¥ pneumoconiosis were used for the study of the change of forced vital apacity(FVC) and forced expiratory volume in on second(FEV_(1.0)) during the period of treatn ent after discharge at out-patient department.
The cases were grouped by the complication of pulmonary tuberculosis and the type of ventilatory impairment.
FEV_(1.0) decreased 110§¢ in the group of normal type which complicated with pulmonary tuberculosis. In the group of pure coal workers¢¥ pneumoconiosis, there were no significant change in each impairment type of FVC and FEV_(1.0). Suppose, it was due to small sample size in thses impairment types.
